Day 0: I’m Off!
Well, I am off to church and then to the airport. Since my flight is not until 2:00pm, I am able to go to church one last time before my flight. Then, I head to the airport where I will check in, have my baggage checked through to New Delhi, and then make my way through security. While I wait for my flight I will grab some lunch and try to relax. On the first leg I have a dual window and aisle seat, as the small plane has only one seat on the left side of the aisle. My flight to Chicago leaves at 2:00pm, and should arrive at around 3:00pm, so I should be in the air for about two hours. You can track my flight at FlightAware.
In Chicago I have about an hour and a half to find my gate and prove that I haven’t lost my passport since I left Raleigh. I may pick up some food to eat in the middle of the night on the plane. They will serve us dinner and breakfast, apparently Indian style. That means my first taste of India food will be brought to me by American Airlines, oh boy! Luckily, I’ll have my extra food if what they serve isn’t any good. My flight leaves around 4:40pm, and should arrive about 14 hours later at 5:45pm, Monday, in New Delhi, India. You can track this flight on FlightAware as well. From there, I have to make it through immigration and customs, and then to the hotel. Tomorrow night (your tomorrow morning), I will make another post tell all about my exciting flight adventure traversing the airport and streets of New Delhi.
Wish me luck!
So glad to see you one last time before you travel the world! Praying for you NOW! Wishing you pleasant and safe travels. Godspeed Michael!
