Qorikancha

On January 16, in addition to preparing for my trek, I visited Qorikancha. Qorikancha was the Temple of the Sun in the Inca culture. When the Spanish arrived, they converted the temple into a church, but incorporated much of the original Inca structure, which remains to this day.

On the exterior, you can see the dark Incan structure, and the more modern Spanish structure around.

Modern Cathedral built around Qorikancha. You can see one of the Inca structures on the left.
